Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of SourceBrain (the "Service"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms.

The service

SourceBrain is a versioned knowledge base for codebases, available as a web app, an API, and a command-line tool. We may add, change, or remove features over time.

Your account

You are responsible for the activity under your account and for keeping your credentials and access tokens secure. You must provide an accurate email address and be old enough to form a binding contract in your jurisdiction.

Acceptable use

• Don't use the Service to store or distribute unlawful, infringing, or malicious content.
• Don't attempt to disrupt, abuse, reverse engineer, or gain unauthorized access to the Service or other users' data.
• Don't resell or misrepresent the Service.

Your content

You retain ownership of the lessons and other content you create. You grant us the limited license needed to store, process, and display that content to operate the Service for you, including, if you enable semantic search, sending lesson text to a third-party embeddings provider as described in our Privacy Policy. You are responsible for the content you store and for having the right to store it.

Plans and billing

Paid plans are billed on a recurring basis through Stripe until cancelled. Cancelling stops future renewals; unless required by law, payments already made are non-refundable. Downgrading or cancelling may reduce the limits and features available to your workspaces.

Termination

You may stop using the Service and delete your workspaces at any time. We may suspend or terminate access that violates these Terms or that we reasonably believe is harmful to the Service or other users.

Disclaimer and limitation of liability

The Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law, SourceBrain is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for loss of data or profits, arising from your use of the Service. We strongly recommend keeping your own backups of important content (for example, via sourcebrain context).

Changes

We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
